Texas holdem can be played with a kind of risky second best hand as long as you are sure about bluffing faking that you are the best. Playing the second best hand is like giving the hand an opportunity to improve, which is indeed a high risky deal. Playing with a second best hand has limitations of when it has to be stopped if there is no improvement. If you are not going to fold your hand before it is late you might land up with loss.
There are two important things in Texas holdem that you should concentrate on when you are not having the first best hand and you are trying to make the pot with your second best hand. • You have to reduce the existing competition of hands that are seeking to improve like you. • You have to play in a way to make the person that is better than you to fold. • You must still try to get enough money in to the pot. Well, since you are playing with the second best hand in Texas Holdem there is no point in waiting and slow playing. If the person that is better than you meets up with nuts you might be in trouble, the earlier you have them fold the better. Something is better than nothing. So, make your early bets a bit high than normal. In cases where you have made a high bet in the pre-flop, there are going to kind of not big responses. They might not mind spending a bit extra to see the flop. But in this cases if you are going to raise and re-raise pre-flop then they might suspect either that you are bluffing or they might think that you are betting on yet to improve or some might get the clue that you are already winning! Doing high bets pre-flop Texas holdem will reduce those players that are already very bad, but those that are waiting improvement will still continue through the flop. Since it can be risky to have such people in the game, because there is a likely chance for them to be making a better hit than you and improving better than you; so, if you have decided to play the second best hand, it is always better you focus on having people out of the table as soon as possible. If you are not going to bet high in pre-flop Texas holdem there are chances for the bad hand to hit a good flop and they might still desire to stay on. Cut competition ASAP. |
